Bushfires are a common natural disaster in Queensland. Whilst we all would like to live on the border of a bush reserve or forestry trail, there is an element of risk involved. It is crucial that you have adequate clearing around your home and other infrastructure to alleviate some bushfire risk. We can assist with fire inspections and creating bushfire barriers around your home.
Bushfire clearing must be undertaken in accordance with Sunshine Coast Council’s vegetation clearing policies. Click here to view the Sunshine Coast Council website page which outlines all the rules and regulations regarding removal of vegetation on private land. Depending on the zoning of your your property, the reason for intended removal & the species of tree there are different requirements that must be adhered to. Especially if your property is located within an environmental protection zone, riparian corridor or core koala habitat region. Our services cannot commence until council approval has been granted.
If you live on a rural zoned property, it is possible that your property is under a self-assessable code. Click here for the Self Assessable Vegetation Clearing Code released by the Queensland Government.
